0-2: Bale inspires Wales to victory over Turkey with two assists

The Madrid forward played the full match and provided two assists for Ramsey and Roberts in his country’s first victory in the competition.
Gareth Bale’s sublime performance helped Wales overcome Turkey (2-0) in their second game of the European Championship.  The Real Madrid forward played the full 90 minutes and provided a sensational pass over the top of the defence for Aaron Ramsey, who chested the ball down and slotted past the Turkish keeper in the 42nd minute.
Bale had the chance to open his account in the tournament, but he failed to convert a penalty on 61’. But the Welshman was not to be deterred and in stoppage time he beat two players on the byline before pulling the ball back to Connor Roberts who turned the ball home to make it 2-0 to Wales. This is Wales’ first win in the competition and they are now on four points after previously drawing with Switzerland (1-1) in the opening match. Bale was also named Man of the Match after the game.
