The Whites have the upper hand, having emerged victorious in two of these games, with the other two ending honours even. The first clash was in the group stage of the 2012/13 campaign as Madrid ran out 3-2 winners at the Bernabéu, followed by a 1-1 draw in Manchester. The other edition in which the two sides locked horns was in the 2015/16 season. On that occasion, Real Madrid saw off the English outfit at the semi-final stage (0-0 and 1-0) en route to lifting the Undécima in Milan.
