Benzema: "We're satisfied with the win"

NEWS | 26/08/2018

"We've shown that we're a great side", declared Casemiro.
In the aftermath of Real Madrid's win over Girona, Karim Benzema offered his thoughts on the game: "It was a tough match against very strong opponents. We conceded at the start and then began to play our football. We're satisfied with the win because they're three very important points away from home. We'll look to continue on in the same vein. We're keen to perform well in LaLiga this season".

"I've been here for 10 years and always work hard for the team. I'm raring to score a lot of goals and help the team to pick up silverware. Football isn't all about goals, it's about winning games and playing well. I'll be trying to score a lot of goals to help the team".

Casemiro: “Lopetegui turned the game in our favour"
"We put in a good performance. In the first half we really struggled, our pressing wasn't good, but in the second half things changed, we played really well and looked more comfortable. We understood what the coach wanted of us and he knows exactly how to tweak things. He has to congratulated because he turned the game in our favour".

Carvajal: "We come away from here with positive vibes".

"Congratulations to my teammates, the key this year is to be united, and if we can do that then we'll do well in LaLiga. We showed that today”.
"He came back to training later, the same as me and it's important to rest up. Marcelo is a great player, a real star and I know he will soon be on form for us".

Carvajal: “We reacted well to the Girona goal”
“The team reacted well to the Girona goal. The two penalties we got were fair, we got the three points and we feel positive. From the first moment we wanted to play out from the back. In the first half we struggled to link up well with the forwards, but in the second half we were more dangerous and that was the key”.

“We know that the start you make can impact the rest of your LaLiga season, but we are taking things game to game and want to keep putting three points on the board. We have to treat every game as if it’s a cup final. Now we have to host Leganés and for me that will be a great and special game. Let's hope it goes our way".
