Endrick and Ciria put our team ahead in a great first half, but Fiorentina leveled the match played in Austria.
Real Madrid drew in their first preseason match, which saw the debuts of Dumfries and Carlos Espí, against a more prepared Fiorentina. Less than 15 minutes had passed at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt (Austria) when Real Madrid took the lead. Carreras delivered the ball into the box, and Endrick needed just two touches to send it into the net: the first to control and the second to unleash a powerful left-footed shot to make it 1-0 in the 12th minute.
And just before the hydration break, the second goal arrived. The play began with Camavinga threading a pass in the 24th minute, continued by Arda Güler, who was very active, feinting inside the area to let the ball pass. Ciria, making his debut with the first team, was the one who scored. Mourinho's side had already reflected their dominance on the scoreboard with two goals, but Fiorentina reduced the gap with their first shot on target, courtesy of a Piccoli goal in the 41st minute. That’s how the first half ended.
Second Half
After the break, Fiorentina stepped up and Gudmundsson had two chances to equalize. Mario Rivas, another debutant, saved his shot on the first occasion, and on the second, he missed the target in a one-on-one with Lunin in the 51st minute. Moise Kean did not miss seven minutes later, scoring with a header inside the box. 2-2, leaving everything to be decided.
As the minutes ticked by, Carlos Espí made his debut in the 75th minute, replacing Endrick. Our team pushed forward in search of victory, creating multiple chances in the opponent's area, but without success. In stoppage time, the winning goal almost came. Espí's header, however, missed the target. The match ended in a draw, marking another step in the preparation for the season, which begins on Saturday, August 22, with an away game against Espanyol.
