Real Madrid - Atlético de Madrid

Navas: “We created chances to win"

NEWS | 08/04/2018

“We are not satisfied with a draw, we’ll have to put it behind us, and switch our minds towards the Champions League game”, said Asensio.
Keylor Navas spoke about the draw in the derby against Atlético de Madrid: "We put a lot in to the match. We controlled the game for the best part and created chances to win. We’re not happy with the draw because of the work we did out on the field. We must continue to work how we are doing. It’s not been an easy year but we’ll fight until the end".

"The equalising goal is part of football. We have to pay more attention because we scored a goal which is difficult thing to do against a team that knows how to defend well and then we went on the attack and neglected the defensive duties".

Contract
"I'm clam. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to play here and I have two years of my contract to fulfil".

Asensio: “The ball just didn’t want to go in”
“It was a good game, but in particular the first half. We had good chances to go ahead at the break, and at the toughest moment, they got their equalising goal. We knew they would be on hand to pick up on our errors. We played well enough to snatch a win, the ball just didn’t want to go in, sometimes that is how the game goes”.

“You have to be unforgiving in attack and press high. That is the attitude that will win us games and keep us happy. In the last few games it hasn’t gone that way. We are not satisfied with a draw, we’ll have to put it behind us, and switch our minds towards the Champions League game on Wednesday. We got a good result in the first leg, but we have to give all we have in order to progress, to make our fans happy, and get into the semi-finals”.
