“I'm thrilled to reach this milestone and wins like this are great for morale”, said the captain.
Against Leganés, Sergio Ramos made his 550th official Real Madrid appearance and netted from the spot to help the Whites to the win. The man from Seville reaches the milestone having played 382 times in LaLiga, 109 Champions League games, 40 in the Copa del Rey, 12 in the Spanish Super Cup, 4 in the Club World Cup and 3 in the European Super Cup. At the end of the game, Florentino Pérez headed to the dressing room at Butarque to present him with a shirt emblazoned with the number 550.

“I'm thrilled to have played my 550th game and to be able to contribute to the win with a goal. I couldn't ask for any more on a personal level. As for the penalty, whenever Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't play, if it's not Gareth then it's me who takes them. It's important to cut the deficit a bit more and these recent wins are fantastic for morale. We have to keep on in this vein”.

He's the tenth madridista to teach the figure.

“The team have bounced back from a tough moment, we’ve found our feet again. Things are starting to fall into place and we’re fighting for it, putting the pressure on in the fight for LaLiga. The level of football in getting better and teams have more and more firepower up front. We must fight to keep a clean sheet, really try to concede as few goals as possible”.

The captain became the tenth player in the history of the club to reach 550 official games. Raúl (741), Casillas (725), Sanchís (710), Santillana (645), Gento (601), Hierro (601), Camacho (577), Pirri (561) and Míchel (559) all also managed this illustrious feat.

Goals in every competition
His goal scoring record is even more noteworthy. Sergio Ramos has scored in all the competitions he has featured in as a madridista. His 72 goals have come as follows: 52 in LaLiga, 11 in the Champions League, 4 in the Copa del Rey, 2 in the Club World Cup, 2 in the Spanish Super Cup and 1 in the UEFA Super Cup
