Shulga: 'Real Madrid is the best club in Europe, and I couldn't pass up this opportunity'
'I like Pedro Martínez's style of play, and I think I will fit in very well,' said the new madridista player on Realmadrid TV.
Max Shulga gave his first interview to Realmadrid TV after the announcement of his signing for the team coached by Pedro Martínez: 'It is the best club in Europe. I played as a cadet and junior in Spain, in Torrelodones, and I know the level of a club like Real Madrid, with so much history and so many titles, so I couldn’t say no to a club like this. I never imagined coming back, especially to Real Madrid, but the opportunity came, and I couldn’t let it pass.'
'I am a player who can do several things on the court. I can bring the ball up, create plays for my teammates, find my own shot, and defend. I am a player who can do whatever is needed to help the team win.'
Expectations
'I need to adapt again to the European game, learn as much as I can across all competitions. I’m used to having the responsibility of winning; I had it with the Boston Celtics last year, where we also had to win, make the playoffs, and reach the finals. I am very prepared and familiar with having very high expectations.'
Pedro Martínez's Style
'I watched many EuroLeague games last year from Valencia Basket, especially in the playoffs. I like the style of play, and I think I will fit in very well.'
The influence of Hugo González
'Yes, he helped me in making the decision. He spoke very highly of it.'
Message to the fans
'Madridistas: I am very excited to be here, to be part of Madrid, and I can’t wait for the season and the games to start to see all the madridistas on the court. ¡Hala Madrid!'
