55 years since club's 13th LaLiga title
Real Madrid secured the title with a 2-1 victory over UD Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu.
On 20 April 1968, Real Madrid claimed their 13th league crown. Miguel Muñoz's men clinched the championship in front of their home fans on the penultimate matchday of the campaign, with a 2-1 victory over UD Las Palmas with Velázquez and Pirri on target.
The win meant that the title was mathematically beyond the Canary Islanders, who had been second in the table and finished third, and Barcelona, who finished as runners-up. Madrid's top scorers in that league season were Amancio, Velázquez and Pirri, with 10 goals apiece. Real Madrid also finished as the team with the fewest goals conceded, letting in just 26 goals, and Junquera won the Zamora Trophy for that edition.
