Real Madrid is about to celebrate its 121st anniversary. On 6 March 1902, the first Board of Directors of the Madrid Football Club was officially elected. That was the beginning of the legacy of the best club in the world. 121 years later, Real Madrid is a benchmark in world sport with its 24 European Cups (14 in football and 10 in basketball) and boasts the honour of being named by FIFA as the Greatest Club of the 20th Century.
The last year has proven to be highly successful, with three major international trophies: the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Uefa Super Cup. The Decimocuarta was secured after defeating Liverpool in the final and after some stunning comebacks at the Bernabéu. The Uefa Super Cup saw the Whites beat Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki, and the Club World Cup in Morocco enhances Real Madrid's supremacy as the club with the most World Cup trophies in the world. In addition to these three trophies, Ancelotti's side also triumphed brilliantly in LaLiga. Benzema, whose performances go down in Real Madrid history and helped him claim the last Ballon d'Or, deserves a special mention.
Having lifted all these trophies, Real Madrid's unparalleled silverware list reads as follows: 14 European Cups, 8 Club World Cups, 5 Uefa Super Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 35 league titles, 19 Copa del Rey trophies, 12 Spanish Super Cups, 1 League Cup, 2 Latin Cups and 2 Little World Cups. During his playing days, Amancio, hero of the club's sixth European Cup, honorary president of the club and legend of world football, who passed away on 21 February 2023, was instrumental in achieving some of these trophies.

Basketball and women's football
The basketball team has also contributed to the club's trophy cabinet over the last year with two new trophies: the club’s 36th league title and 9th Spanish Super Cup. Alongside these trophies, Real Madrid's basketball honours include 10 European Cups (a competition record), 28 Copa del Rey trophies, 5 Intercontinental Cups, 4 European Cup Winners' Cups, 1 Korac Cup, 1 ULEB Cup and 1 Latin Cup. Since 2020, the women's football team and its youth academy have also formed part of the club's history.
The Santiago Bernabéu, symbol of the 21st century
Another source of pride for Real Madrid fans is the Santiago Bernabéu, whose transformation process is advancing so as to continue to be a symbol of sport and to turn it into a major avant-garde and universal icon. In addition, Real Madrid City is the finest sports complex in the world and continues to thrive 17 years after its inauguration. Lastly, the club participates in solidarity and cultural projects organised through the Real Madrid Foundation.
