Real Madrid's Under-13s won the XXV LaLiga Promises International Tournament, which took place at the Ciudad Deportiva de Maspalomas (Gran Canaria). Our side clinched the title after getting the better of Barcelona in the final. An impressive free kick from Edu in the second half gave Real Madrid the win. It was Real Madrid's ninth title, their third in a row, making them the team to have won the competition the most times.
It was a very evenly matched first half with the best chance coming from Manu on the stroke of half-time, he was played in and found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he was unable to convert the chance.
Edu's goal
Both teams struggled to take the initiative after the break as Barcelona were first to give it a go though with a long-range effort that sailed just over the crossbar. Madrid responded swiftly as Edu made it 1-0 with a fantastic free-kick that flew into the top corner. Barcelona went in search of an equaliser, but great work from Guille and the defence maintained the lead right up to the final whistle as Edu was named player of the tournament.
