Honorary President of Real Madrid since 2016

Gento's incredible legacy as a player established him as an emblematic figure at the club, and he received his greatest recognition on 23 October 2016. The Extraordinary General Assembly of Members unanimously named Francisco Gento honorary president of Real Madrid on that day.
 
At the ceremony, president Florentino Pérez devoted some moving words to him: "You represent the values of Real Madrid, you are part of this badge and you will forever be in the hearts of all madridistas. I know that our great Alfredo Di Stéfano would be proud to have you take over from him at the helm of the presidency".
 
A gesture of gratitude in recognition of his devotion and dedication to Real Madrid, whom he represented for 18 seasons and where he made history by winning the first six European Cups. Over the course of 600 games he also won 12 league titles, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 2 Latin Cups, 2 Spanish Cups and 1 Mini World Cup.
