PSG - Real Madrid

Real Madrid Women beaten by PSG

MATCH REPORT. 09/11/2021. Eduardo Olivera

David Aznar's charges failed to extend their unbeaten run in the Women’s Champions League in Paris.

Tonight saw Real Madrid Women suffer the first defeat of the Women’s Champions League campaign as David Aznar’s ladies came away from the Parc des Princes empty-handed following a 4-0 defeat. PSG posed a threat from the get-go and after failing to covert their first two chances, the hosts hit the front courtesy of Katoto’s 13th-minute strike. After falling behind, the madridistas sought to hit back but struggled to make any real inroads on the opposition’s goal as they failed to overcome the Parisians’ suffocating press. Madrid’s task was made all the greater when Däbritz doubled the home side’s lead on the stroke of half-time.

After the restart, PSG added to their advantage through Katoto’s headed effort from a corner on 54’. Zornoza tried her luck five minutes later, but her effort was wide of the target. Lady luck wasn’t shining on the madridistas and in her efforts to clear her lines, Rocío contrived to turn the ball into her own net to make it 4-0. Møller then had the Whites’ best chance of the night, but her effort shaved the upright on its way past the post. David Aznar’s troops, who remain second in the group on six points, now turn their attentions to Saturday’s meeting with Betis.
