"We've had a good week, the vibes are good and we want to take that into the game", added the coach.
Zinedine Zidane took to the media room at Real Madrid City on the eve of the side's encounter with Villarreal to preview the game (Sunday, 9pm CET). The Whites' coach began his press conference with words of support for
Luis Enrique: "I want to send all of my strength and that of all of the team to Luis Enrique and his family after what happened to his daughter. It's a difficult time and our thoughts are with him".

Zidane then went on to preview the match in the following terms: "We're treating it as the most important game of the season because it's our next one. We know that the points are important now at the start of the season. We want to go out and deliver a good performance. We've had a good week, it's been a long one and the vibes are good. We now want to take those good vibes into tomorrow's game. Villarreal are very good in possession. They might not have had the best of results at the start of the season but they're capable of making life difficult for you because they've got some good players. We've prepared well for the game during the course of this week".

Satisfied with the squad?
"At the end of the day, this is the squad that I've got and I'm proud of the players that I've got. In my eyes, they're the best. When you look to make a few changes, the important thing is that you're happy when the season kicks off and I'm happy. Anything can happen up until 2 September, but I can't complain at the squad I've got. I'd be in the wrong job if I was complaining at having this squad. Every single coach would want to manage this team and I'm really proud of these players".

Relationship with the president
"Where I make the decisions is on the pitch and that's all I'm bothered about. The relationship I've had with our president has always been a very good one. He's the president who brought me to come and play at this great club and I'll never forget that. Everyone is free to read into things as they like. I've got a good relationship with him and what people say outside of here isn't something that I can control and it doesn't bother me. What I'm bothered about is our daily work and the opportunity that I've got to coach at this great club".

Hazard and the Belgium national team
"He's legally able to travel with Belgium and see the doctor. He's not able to play at the moment. We as a club know that, as does he as the player. I hope that's how things play out, for Belgium's sake too".

"I can't possibly be happy to see players get injured. Unfortunately, these things happen from time to time. These things happen at all clubs. The physios and doctors do their all to get the players back and fit quickly and I hope to see them back soon".

Might Navas be on his way out?
"It might happen but the important thing is that Keylor will be with us tomorrow and we're going to try and win the game. As always, anything can happen up until 2 September. We've got an important game tomorrow and I'm just focusing on that".

Bringing in another goalkeeper?
"What has to happen will happen. We have to focus on tomorrow's game.
Keylor will travel and we'll then have to see what happens".

Last-minute signings
"Up until Monday night, anything can happen. A big signing, two big signings... We'll have to see. The important thing is tomorrow's game".

Favourites for Champions League crown?
"That doesn't matter, we've got to get over what happened last season. We believe in who we are and what we want to do in this competition and are relaxed".

"They're a really competitive side, despite having some absentees. They've got an excellent squad and it'll be a tough competition. It's a really attractive game to be involved in. It's the first group-stage game and it'll be a marvellous contest".
