NEWS | 06/10/2018 | Javier García (Vitoria)“We need to pick ourselves up and get players back and fit, we’ve gone 15 days with some really bad luck”, stated the coach.
“Karim and Gareth had injuries, so we had to make decisions regarding changes. That’s football, that’s the way it goes, and today all the negatives came out. We have the international break now, so we can get back to what we’re doing”.
Sense of calm
“It is just October. In such a negative dynamic, we need to get our key players back. The sense of calm comes with the result, and the result will come after the goals. Today we had good chances to score but we were punished”.
“A coach always demands the best of himself and of his players. The players always give it their best and they went out with the right attitude today. But we haven’t scored and recent games are starting to weigh on their minds. We’re also missing some crucial players”.
The way the team plays
“The team tries to implement the things we have planned for, but if we want things to work properly, it’s vital that we have everyone available. This run without key players isn’t normal. It’s also hugely important that we start scoring goals, and we will do that. The coach is always responsible”.
Message for the fans
“The message is that this team have been working like beasts for the last 3 months and they will get back to winning ways. It’s normal to be disappointed but we’re in October and we’ve got time to get players back and starting winning games again soon”.
“It’s not something I’m concerned about, that’s your job and I’m sure you’ll do it. I have to be outside that. We’re in October. We have to remain calm from the inside in light of this negative situation”.
