"I'm delighted, it's difficult to put into words what it means", said the full-back.Álvaro Odriozola has made his official debut with Real Madrid and he did so in front of the home fans at the Santiago Bernabéu. The full-back played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over Espanyol on LaLiga match day five. Following the game, Odriozola said: “It's difficult to put into words what it means to make your debut for Real Madrid, it's the highest you can go, the peak for a footballer. You dream about this moment since you're a kid. I've worked very hard to get where I am and now I'm going to enjoy the demanding nature and give it my all for the team”.
Feelings
“When I took to the pitch I was thinking about what might happen in the game, what I had to do, and imagining that everything went well. I felt very comfortable from the first minute and playing alongside the best in the world makes it all easier. I try to play my game and not get too nervous. I'm very happy, delighted to have made my debut”.
Win over Espanyol
“We struggled at times, it wasn't easy but the team worked hard. We took all three points and that was the aim. We found things more difficult than against Roma, but we'll focus on the team's work rate, we were able to dig in and keep a clean sheet. Espanyol are a great side and use the ball very well but in the end the three points have stayed right here”.
