The striker has come back to the club after having a great season at Olympique Lyon, where he scored 21 goals.
Mariano Díaz (Barcelona, 08/01/1993) has now come back to Real Madrid. The 25-year-old forward returns to the Whites after a stellar season at Lyon. He played 45 games and scored 21 goals. The European champions can count on a player who understands the importance of Real Madrid perfectly (he played here between 2011 and 2017) and last year he became one of the great attacking players in European football.

He is a fast striker, a powerful and clinical finisher. Mariano started his career at Espanyol and in the summer of 2011 he moved to Real Madrid from Badalona. After passing through the Under-19s and Real Madrid C, he moved up the ranks to Castilla in 2014. One season later, in the 2015/16 campaign, he was the top scorer in the Segunda División B, scoring 27 goals with the youth team. Next stop: the first team.

Four titles with Real Madrid
In 2016/17, he was part of the first team, winning the Champions League, LaLiga, the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. He debuted on August 27, 2016 in a 2-1 win over Celta and scored his first goal in October against Cultural Leonesa. In that campaign he featured 14 times and rifled in 5 goals for the first team.

In the summer of 2017 he was loaned out to Olympique Lyon, where he has been a key player. He was one of the top scorers of the French League (with 18 goals) and also netted goals in the Europa League (2). His other goal came in the French Cup.
