Geremi spent three seasons with Real Madrid where he picked up four trophies (2 Champions Leagues, 1 LaLiga title and 1 Spanish Super Cup). He was a versatile player who could occupy several positions in defence and midfield, the Cameroon international struck a decisive goal on the road to the Novena. His left-footed strike in the first leg of the quarter-final in Munich helped Madrid make it through the round.

He made a total of 76 appearances for Real Madrid. His most active season was 1999/00. He played 34 games, eight of which came as part of the eighth European Cup triumph in Paris. That year, he also won the gold medal at the Olympic Games with his national team. In 2002 he pursued his career at Middlesbrough.
