Three-time European Cup, league and Spanish Cup winner

A fan of all sports, Moncho Monsalve was a towering center born in Medina del Campo (Valladolid). He joined the club from Atlético San Sebastián, where he spent one season, after landing a scholarship from the Federation and checked in at Real Madrid in 1963. During his four years with the Whites, he played his part in nine trophy triumphs.

He was part of the roster that started to build Real Madrid's legacy on the continental scene as the club claimed its first three European Cup crowns. His trophy haul also features a trio of Spanish league titles and Spanish Cups.

He was capped 65 times by Spain. After calling time on his playing career, he embarked on a lengthy coaching career that saw him lead both club teams and national sides.
