A treble in his only season as a madridista

Jim Scott played for Real Madrid during the 1964-65 season. In a team that boasted the talents of Luyk, Emiliano, Burgess and Lolo Sainz, among others, the American center played somewhat a secondary role, making an impact with his physical strength and commitment to the team. He was a vital component in a Real Madrid squad which clinched the treble: European Cup, League title and Copa de España.

He played a key role in Europe in the second game of the semi-finals in Belgrade against OKK. With Burgess and Lolo Sainz out, Sevillano injured and Luyk on four fouls, Scott came to the fore to crush any hopes the Serbian team may have had. Madrid would go on to win their second European Cup when they beat Moscow's TSKA in the two-game final.
