Security

The celebration of sporting events with optimal safety standards is our top priority.

The stadium, with a capacity of 81,000 spectators, meets the highest requirements for the safe hosting of top-level sporting events. For each event, a security operation tailored to the specific circumstances is deployed, involving no fewer than 1,000 personnel, including security guards, assistants, and ushers. This team is joined by essential support from other agencies such as the National Police, Municipal Police, Red Cross, Samur Emergency Services, and Firefighters.

The stadium houses the Organizational Control Unit (UCO), from which all services and resources from these agencies are coordinated to ensure proper collaboration. There is also an Internal Control Unit (UCI), where all departments of the club involved in event production work together in a coordinated manner to perform their respective tasks.

Real Madrid works closely with the authorities to ensure safety in our stadium, fully complying with all applicable national and international regulations.

UEFA has awarded the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium the "Elite Stadium" category, the highest distinction granted by the international body, and a requirement for hosting major continental finals. To achieve this status, UEFA considered, among other factors, the quality of the facilities and safety measures, which have been recognized as a global benchmark.
