In February of 2014, the current president of the Madrid Peña of Mexico City, the Spanish Alejandro Aybar, moved to live in Mexico City for personal reasons and thought that the best way to preserve the family tradition of passion for Real Madrid, who had inherited from his grandfather, was looking for the place where the Madrid players met every weekend to see the Real Madrid matches and live the emotion of football. After several months of searching without success, his wife, the Mexican Clari Bravo, puts him in touch with an authentic football guru, the Mexican Carlos Salcido, current vice president of the Peña, assuring him that if he did not know an official place where Real Madrid fans got together to enjoy the games, then it was that there simply there was no rock open to the public. After a great research work and reviewing the information obtained in detail, both came to the conclusion that, although it seemed a lie, in a city of more than twenty million inhabitants there was no desired Peña, even when it is the birthplace of one of the Madrid idols of the eighties, Hugo Sánchez. With enthusiasm, in May 2017 they assumed the challenge of initiating the procedures to found an official rock of Real Madrid in Mexico City, with the main objective of being public and being open to all the Madrid players who, committing themselves to complying with the Ethical Code of the Peña, would like to be part of a family environment of unconditional support to Real Madrid. Following this, the first major decision they made was to locate the headquarters of the rock as close as possible to the replica of the cyber that exists in Mexico City, installed in a symbol of brotherhood between the Spanish and Mexican community, and for this they invited the Mexican Roberto Castillo “Bobby” to join the project, later designed the logo of the Peña, whose first draft was carried out in a napkin. Finally, in September 2018 Real Madrid recognized them as an official Peña in Mexico City and from that moment on many people get in touch with them through social networks to request information on how to become a peñista and be part of the largest football team in history.
