All seven Madrid players make the 23-man shortlist, which also includes Benzema. The team will be announced on 15 January.
Courtois, Militão, Rüdiger, Bellingham, Modrić, Valverde and Vini Jr. are among the 23 candidates for the 2023 FIFA FIFPro Men's World11. All seven Real Madrid players are in contention to be part of this dream team, which is chosen by professional footballers from around the world and will be revealed on 15 January at The Best Awards gala. Benzema, who won last year's Club World Cup and Copa del Rey with our team, is also on the list.
The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes will be picked. The remaining place will go to the player who didn't make the list but received the highest number of votes. This eleven is put together based on the players' performances between 19 December 2022 and 20 August 2023.
The 23 candidates:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Ederson and Emiliano Martinez.
Defenders: Militão, Rüdiger, Ruben Dias, Van Dijk, Stones and Walker.
Midfielders: Bellingham, Modrić, Valverde, De Bryune, Gündoğan, Rodri and Bernardo Silva.
Forwards: Vini Jr, Benzema, Haaland, Kane, Mbappé, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
