Historic Goals: Zamorano
In the 1994/1995 season, the Chilean bagged a brace in the team’s victory over Real Valladolid.
This week’s edition of Historic Goals features Zamorano. The Chilean joined the club from Sevilla in the summer of 1992. He was an out-and-out striker whose powerful jump allowed him to get on the end of every ball and score numerous headers.
In the 1994/95 season, Real Madrid faced Real Valladolid on matchday 15 of LaLiga. The goal we have picked out was the second of the game, which set the Whites on course for 0-5 victory, with the Chilean scoring a trademark header. Martín Vázquez swung in a corner which Zamorano met at the front post to glance the ball inside the far post.
Zamorano made 173 appearances for Real Madrid scoring 101 goals over four seasons. For our club, he clinched the following trophies: 1 LaLiga title, 1 Copa del Rey and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
