Fran García: “I’m delighted to have scored my first goal for Real Madrid”
“The best way to prepare for the Champions League final is competing in every game,” underlined the academy graduate.
Fran García assessed the win over Granada for Realmadrid TV. The full-back scorer of the team’s opening goal and creator of the second, explained: “Continuing the way we started is one of the key elements to this incredible season and we want to keep it up. We shouldn’t change our mentality just because we’ve already won LaLiga. This will keep us in good shape for the Champions League final. The best way to prepare for it is by competing in every game.”
First madridista goal
“I’m absolutely delighted and you remember everyone who helped you when things weren’t quite so positive. I also thought of a person who passed away some time ago and was a huge Real Madrid fan. It’s nice to be able to dedicate it to him and I hope he’s watching over us from up there.”
Strength as a team
“We have to work every day to give the best of ourselves to the team. There is no better way to do that than by scoring and creating goals. We have to keep working hard, this is an incredible group of players and we really drive each other on.”
Granada guard of honour
“I’d like to say I hope they can come back to where they belong next season. We’re grateful for that gesture with the guard of honour and I like to think we repaid it.”
Party at Cibeles
“It’s so exciting. I was there at the celebration myself a few years ago. Now I’ll be there on the other side and I’m just speechless. We have to enjoy it because we’ve earned it.”
