Real Madrid will play their first ever game at Braga's Municipal Stadium this Tuesday on Champions League Group C matchday 3 9:00pm CEST. The ground was built to host games at Euro 2004 and has a capacity of 30,000 fans.

Barely 20 years old, it is considered an architectural and engineering masterpiece. Located on the site of an old quarry, it has only two main stands, the roof of which is linked by a series of steel cables. One of the ends is covered by the rock walls of the former quarry, while up the other end sits a small hill with views out over the city.

Another notable element of the stadium is its two stories below pitch-level. One serves for fans to move around between the stands and the other houses a large underground car park. In 2011, the stadium's architect, Eduardo Souto de Moura, received the prestigious Pritzker Award in Washington, one of the most significant accolades in the world of architecture. The ceremony saw the judges pick out the stadium, which was praised by then-President of the United States, Barack Obama.
