2-1: Spain crowned Euro champions
Carvajal, Nacho and Joselu clinched the trophy with the National Team, beating England in the final.
Spain got their hands on a fourth Euros trophy, beating England 2-1 at Berlin's Olympiastadion. Madridistas Carvajal, who played the full 90 minutes, Nacho, who came off the bench in the second half, and Joselu, were involved in the title win for the Spanish National Team. The first half was an evenly-matched affair with few chances for either side. Spain controlled the ball, but the English created the clearest chance before the break, only for Unai Simon to react superbly to keep out Foden's point-blank effort.
With the second half barely underway, Spain were ahead as Carvajal and Lamine Yamal linked up nicely to play Nico Williams in to slot home. They continued to create chances, but England levelled on 73’ through Cole Palmer. Fourteen minutes later, Oyarzabal made it 2-1 to hand Spain another European Championship victory.
Fifteen madridistas have now been crowned Euro champions
Following Spain's win over England, Carvajal, Nacho and Joselu add their names to a list of 15 madridistas to have won the Euros. The three Spanish internationals succeed the Portuguese champions Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe, who lifted the trophy in 2016, and the five players who won in 2012: Xabi Alonso, Arbeloa, Albiol, Ramos and Casillas. The latter two also won it with Spain back in the 2008 edition hosted in Austria and Switzerland.
