The victory over Celta was Karim Benzema's 437th for Real Madrid, the same tally achieved by Sergio Ramos in his time as a madridista. The Frenchman has reached this milestone in his 14th season at the club, where he already occupies a place in history as the second highest goalscorer 349 and the sixth player with the most appearances 641. After equalling Ramos, there is only one Madrid player with more wins: Iker Casillas 463.

Benzema's first win came on the day of his debut: 29 August 2009 against Deportivo La Coruña at the Santiago Bernabéu. Since then, he has won 307 league games, 85 Champions League ties, 27 Copa del Rey clashes, 9 Club World Cup matches, 5 Spanish Super Cup encounters and 4 European Super Cup fixtures. All this has contributed to a spectacular list of 24 titles: 5 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 Leagues, 2 Copas del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
