David Alaba has been named best Austrian player of 2022. The madridista defender has been awarded the prize presented by the Austrian Press Agency APA taking the votes from coaches in the country's top flight. Alaba has won the award for the ninth time in his career, having also finished top in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020 and 2021. The defender has got his hands on four trophies with Real Madrid this year: the Champions League, LaLiga, the European Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.
