The madridista played the full 90 minutes in his national team's friendly against the United States.
Rüdiger played a part in Germany's win against the United States in the first of two friendlies to be played by his national team on North American soil. The Madrid defender was in the starting line-up at the Pratt & Whitney Stadium in Connecticut and completed the full 90 minutes in a match in which the Germans had to come from behind. The United States opened the scoring in the 26th minute through Pulisic, only to see Gündogan equalise twelve minutes later.
Germany took the win in the second half thanks to goals from Füllkrug '58 and Musiala '61, with Naggelsmann making his debut as coach. On Wednesday they play their second friendly in Philadelphia, where they take on Mexico.
