Tributes paid to Gento, Pachín, Casado, Benito and Ico Aguilar by the Spanish Association of International Footballers.
The club was represented by Emilio Butragueño at the event which took place at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
The Spanish Association of International Footballers paid tribute to Paco Gento, Pachín, Casado, Goyo Benito and Ico Aguilar at their Ordinary General Assembly. The Royal Spanish Football Federation in Las Rozas Madrid hosted the event, with our club's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, in attendance.
The five Real Madrid players already have their Spanish national team legend jersey numbers, reflecting their order in which they made their debut with the senior team: Gento 240, Pachín 271, Casado 280, Benito 368 and Ico Aguilar 369. Luis Rubiales, President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, presented a commemorative jersey with their names on it and a diploma certifying them as legends of the national team to the families of the deceased former players. During the same ceremony, the Atlético de Madrid internationals Miguel González, Joaquín Peiró and José Luis Capón were also honoured.
