On 8 July 1962, Real Madrid clinched their tenth Copa de España. The team lifted the trophy at the Santiago Bernabéu, edging past Sevilla in an intense final that was decided at the death. Puskas was the main man in the clash, netting a brace. His first came from the penalty spot, before he sprung up in the last minute of normal time to snatch victory for Madrid.

The win saw Miguel Muñoz's team get their hands on a second title of the season, having already come out on top in LaLiga. With an incredible record of over 3 goals per game in this edition of the Cup 28 goals in 9 matches, the team made the final after eliminating Real Sociedad, Elche, Barcelona and Zaragoza along the way.
