NEWS.
On 12 January 2020, Real Madrid secured their 11th Spanish Super Cup at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. This was the first edition to be played in a knockout format and outside Spain. In the final, the Madridistas went head-to-head with Atlético and, after the match ended 0-0, the trophy was decided in a penalty shoot-out. The Whites converted their first four spot-kicks, while Atlético missed two of theirs. Valverde was voted MVP for the final.

Zidane's men had previously overcome Valencia in the semi-finals. This game proved to be memorable, with Kroos scoring directly from a corner kick to set the team on the way to victory. Isco and Modrić, after a superb piece of skill, sealed passage to the final 1-3.
