The second anniversary of the 34th league title
Real Madrid were proclaimed champions after beating Villarreal at the Di Stéfano stadium on the penultimate matchday.
Real Madrid won their 34th LaLiga title on 16 July 2020. It came on the penultimate matchday of the season with a 2-1 win over Villarreal at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. A Benzema brace in that match secured yet another title for the club. The 2019/20 campaign was interrupted for more than three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, following the return of the competition in June, our team went on to string together ten wins to clinch the league title.
Zidane's side conceded the fewest goals in the competition 25 with Courtois winning the Zamora Trophy. With 21 goals, Benzema finished as Madrid's top scorer. The LaLiga title was the second title won that season after the Spanish Super Cup.
