Third Anniversary of La Decimocuarta
On 28 May 2022, Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in Paris to claim a historic Champions League title following some unforgettable comebacks at the Bernabéu.

Three years ago, Real Madrid were crowned European Cup champions once again when they lifted La Decimocuarta in Paris. On 28 May 2022, the Whites defeated Liverpool 1-0 at the Stade de France, which was also the venue for La Octava. A second-half goal from Vini Jr. and fine saves from MVP Courtois decided the game against the English side.
On the road to the final, the Madridistas were up against Inter Milan, Sheriff and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Group Stage. From then on, the Whites produced a spectacular run through the knockout stages. In the last 16, they faced PSG and, after losing in Paris, they staged a tremendous comeback at the Bernabéu with a hat-trick from Benzema. It was the first magical night of this year's edition at the Madrid stadium, which would repeat itself in the second leg of the quarter-finals against Chelsea. Real Madrid scored in the 80th minute through Rodrygo to send the game into extra time, where Benzema secured his team's place in the next round.
The semi-final against Manchester City was also dramatic. After losing 4-3 in the first leg, and when all seemed lost in the return leg with the 0-1 scoreline in 89‘, the Bernabéu experienced another incredible moment with Rodrygo’s brace in just two minutes. In extra time, Benzema slotted home the penalty that gave Madrid a place in the final for La Decimocuarta. This trophy put the finishing touch to a great season. Under the leadership of Ancelotti, who became the first coach to win the European Cup four times, Real Madrid also claimed the LaLiga title and the Uefa Super Cup.
