On 18 May 1960, Real Madrid clinched the club's fifth European Cup crown in one of the greatest games in footballing history. Our team overcame Eintracht Frankfurt at Glasgow's Hampden Park with star performances from Puskas four goals and Di Stéfano three. The madridistas fought back following Kress's opener to secure the team's fifth straight continental crown, a feat that no other side has matched in the ensuring 62 years.

En route to the historic encounter, Real Madrid got the better of  Jeunesse Esch, Nice and Barcelona in the previous rounds. The madridistas saw off the Blaugranas in the semi-finals thanks to 3-1 wins in both legs. The tournament's leading scorer was Puskas, who found the net 12 times
