Seven years since club's third Uefa Super Cup
Today marks the seventh anniversary of Real Madrid's third Uefa Super Cup. The city of Trondheim Norway was the venue for the 3-2 victory over Sevilla. The Whites took the lead courtesy of a stunning strike from Asensio, who was making his official debut as a Real Madrid player that evening.
Sevilla equalised and then took the lead thanks to goals from Franco Vázquez and Konoplyanka, but Madrid refused to give up. A Ramos header in the 93rd minute sent the match into extra time, where the Whites went on to clinch the trophy. Carvajal settled the contest in extra time with a superb goal. This was the team's second victory over Sevilla in the Uefa Super Cup after the 2014 edition.
