Pirri receives Madrid Legend of Football Award

The Real Madrid honorary president was the star of a gala held by the Federación de Fútbol de Madrid, where our club also scooped the 'Inspira' Sustainability Prize.

José Martínez PirriReal Madrid's honorary president, was presented with the Premio Leyenda del Fútbol Madrileño (Madrid Legend of Football Award) at a ceremony hosted by the Madrid Football Federation (RFFM). Pirri was unable to attend the event and Paco Díez, RFFM president, handed him the trophy at Real Madrid City. The club's honorary president reflected: “It's a pleasure to become a Madrid footballing legend. Even though I am not from Madrid, my children are and my whole life has been spent with Real Madrid. I feel extremely madrileño and I'd like to thank you and the Real Federación de Fútbol de Madrid for granting me that legendary status within Madrid. I'm very sorry not to be present at the gala. Sending a big hug to all, and thank you so much."

Besides the prize for PirriReal Madrid were also winners of the ‘Inspira’ Sustainability Award, which was collected by Director of Football Santiago Solari on the club's behalf. There were also accolades for our academy players Paula Comendador (who was presented with the trophy as best player last season) and Andrea Alonso, Claudia de la Cuerda, Laia López, Adriana Folgado, María Luisa García, Amaya García, Bibiana Casquero, Raquel Íñigo, Naiara Sanmartín and Silvia Blasco for the Spain U-17 championship they won with the Madrid team. On the boys side, Ariel Nkoghe, Gonzalo Aranaz, Álvaro Gonzalez, Nacho Marina, Jaime Barroso and Ferrán Seco were also awarded for their Spain U-16 championship won with the Madrid side.
