Eleven years since La Décima
NEWS.

On this day eleven years ago, Real Madrid got their hands on La Décima in Lisbon. Sergio Ramos was the star of the show with his legendary decisive goal in the final against Atlético. With 93 minutes on the clock, the centre-back drew the scores level with a bullet header to send the game to extra-time. In the added period, BaleMarcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo rounded off a magical night. Our team, led by Carlo Ancelotti, showed their fighting spirit, going all out until the final moment to get their hands on the trophy.

On the way to Lisbon, the madridistas played in the Group Stage against Galatasaray, Juventus and Copenhagen. The knock-outs pitted them against three German outfits: Schalke (Round of 16), Borussia Dortmund (quarters) and Bayern Munich (semis). This was the second of three all-Spanish finals in European Cup history, all of which went the way of Real Madrid.
