Real Madrid became five-time European champions in one of the greatest matches in the history of football. Our team defeated Eintracht Frankfurt at Hampden Park Glasgow, with outstanding performances from Puskas 4 goals and Di Stéfano 3. The madridistas neutralised Kress's opening goal and won their fifth consecutive title, a feat that no one has achieved 63 years later.
 
Before reaching this historic encounter, Real Madrid had beaten Jeunesse Esch, Nice and Barcelona in the previous rounds. They overcame the Blaugranas in the semi-finals, winning 3-1 in each leg. The top scorer of the tournament was Puskas, with 12 goals.
