On 28 June 1970, Real Madrid beat Valencia 3-1 in the final played at the Camp Nou.

It's been 55 years since Real Madrid won their 11th Spanish Cup. The opponent was Valencia, in a match played at the Camp Nou. Penalties from Pirri and Vicente Jara levelled the score at half-time, but after the break, our team came out on top with goals from Planelles and Fleitas.
To reach the Camp Nou final, Real Madrid had defeated Castellón, Las Palmas, Barcelona and Athletic Club in the two-legged knockout rounds. That squad was coached by Miguel Muñoz. Amancio was Real Madrid's top scorer in that edition with six goals.
