50 years since club's 16th league title
On 27 April 1975, Miljanic's team clinched the title with five games left.
Real Madrid were crowned league champions for the 16th time in 1974-75. The Whites drew at the Atotxa stadium against Real Sociedad, in a match when Pirri scored in the 89th minute to give his team the point they needed to secure another title.
That edition ended with Real Madrid, under Miljanic's guidance, in first place with 50 points, followed by Zaragoza (38) and Barcelona (37). The Madridistas, who mathematically secured the championship with five games to go, finished unbeaten at the Bernabéu. They were also the top-scoring team with 66 goals and Santillana finished as the team's top scorer with 17 goals.
