Today marks 31 years since Real Madrid's basketball team clinched their 27th League title. On 26 May 1994, the side led by Clifford Luyk were crowned champions when they beat Barcelona in the final. The best-of-five series was decided in just three games, as the madridistas stormed to the title after winning two at home (81-67 and 79-69), and one on the road at the first attempt (64-77). The trophy was the team's second successive league title.

During the Regular Season, Real Madrid were the top performers with 24 wins and just 4 defeats. In the playoffs, they came past Breogán in the Round of 16, Manresa in the quarters and Estudiantes in the semifinals, ahead of their title decider with Barcelona. The key man in that campaign was Arvydas Sabonis, who was named MVP of the season and for the final.
