It's been 118 years since Real Madrid lifted the Spanish Cup for the second time. Our team defended the title they had won the previous year on 10 April 1906 thanks to a 4-1 win over Athletic Club. Giralt and Revuelto were on the scoresheet early on, before the Basque outfit cut the deficit on the stroke of half-time. Following the restart, strikes by Parages and Alonso made sure the Copa would stay with the madridistas.
The Hipódromo de Madrid hosted the tournament, as our team also came past Recreativo de Huelva with a 3-0 win in the opening game. The success was the second of four successive titles for the team between 1905 and 1908. Real Madrid have now won the competition 20 times.
