On 22 December 2018, Real Madrid made history once again as they were crowned world champions for the seventh time. The tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, with Al Ain our opponents in the final. Our team ran out 4-1 winners, after Modrić opened the scoring with an effort from outside the box. Llorente, Ramos and a Nader own goal completed the madridista rout.
 
In the semi-finals, Real Madrid got the better of Kashima Antlers 1-3. Bale struck a hat-trick against the Japanese side and was named player of the tournament. The victory in Abu Dhabi meant Real Madrid became the first team ever to lift the Club World Cup in three consecutive years, to close out a 2018 which also saw them clinch the Decimotercera.
