Foundation beneficiaries from Uruguay visit Spain
A group of 20 minors were awarded for their work and for demonstrating the values during the season.
Twenty children and youngsters from the José Emilio Santamaría socio-sports school organised by the Real Madrid Foundation in Uruguay paid a visit to Madrid. The children are pupils of the Cervantes School in Montevideo, which has awarded the most outstanding students for embodying the values in an exemplary manner.
It was a very intense few days, with the visitors attending the first team football matches against Napoli and Granada, the basketball game against Rio Breogán, a training session at Real Madrid City and a visit to the Bernabéu Tour.
15 years of activity
The socio-sports school in Montevideo commenced its activities in July 2008 and currently caters for 165 boys and girls, aged between 5 and 17, in football and basketball. The children are taking part in two sports sessions a week at the Cervantes School sports facilities. They also receive several talks given by psychologists and nutritionists, related to school bullying, nutrition and health. Throughout the season, the socio-sports school also organises various activities and games outdoors, in which the values of the Foundation are also incorporated.
