Five years since the seventh Club World Cup
On 22 December 2018, Real Madrid lifted the trophy when they beat Al Ain in Abu Dhabi.
Real Madrid made history in Abu Dhabi when they clinched the seventh world champion title in their history. Their opponents in the final were Al Ain, and our team ran out 4-1 winners. Modrić struck the opener from outside the box, before Llorente, Ramos and a Nader own goal completed the rout for the madridistas.
In the semi-finals, Real Madrid beat Kashima Antlers 1-3. Bale hit a hat-trick against the team from Japan and was named player of the tournament. Thanks to the success in Abu Dhabi, Real Madrid became the first team ever to win three consecutive Club World Cups to close out a 2018 that saw them clinch La Decimotercera.
