Today marks the eighth anniversary of Real Madrid's 25th Copa de Rey basketball crown. On 22 February 2015, the Whites edged out Barcelona in the final at the Gran Canaria Arena 71-77. Rudy was the standout performer of the game with 16 points and 26 in PIR and was awarded the MVP of the tournament. Ayón, Sergio Rodríguez and Nocioni, with 10 points each, accompanied the Balearic small forward's impressive display.
On route to the title, Real Madrid knocked out Zaragoza in the quarter-finals 85-73 and Joventut in the semi-finals 83-100. Laso's men defedned the trophy they claimed the previous season and were a step closer to the monumental milestone of securing five trophies in a single year: the EuroLeague, Intercontinental Cup, the league, the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup.
