22 years since Real Madrid was named Club of the 20th Century

On 11 December 2000, FIFA named Real Madrid as Club of the 20th Century. The trophy was awarded during a ceremony held by the world football governing body in Rome, and Florentino Pérez and Alfredo Di Stéfano accepted the prize. Real Madrid scooped the trophy with more than 42% of the votes, ahead of Manchester United and Bayern Munich, the following teams in the running with 9.69% and 9.18% of the votes respectively.
