Training for the Foundation schools' coaches in Mexico
More than 4,500 beneficiaries have enjoyed training in sport and values thanks to the support of the Fundación Grupo Bafar since 2011.
The educator-coaches at the Real Madrid Foundation's social sports school in Chihuahua (Mexico), run in collaboration with the Fundación Grupo Bafar, have attended another training session in the For a Real Education: Values and Sport methodology. The social sports schools help 4,500 beneficiaries at risk of violence and poor eating habits, using sport as the ideal tool to provide leisure time with a purpose.
The training days in football, basektball and values following the Real Madrid Foundation methodology were delivered to 25 educator-coaches, among whom were a female coach from the Oaxaca social sports school, the result of an agreement with Cesal and Crecemos DIJO. The training was based around learning to design tasks and games in accordance with the Foundation methodology in order to put it into practice with students. The course concluded with the participants receiving a certificate, and those in attendance were clearly eager to continue learning on the football pitch and the basketball court.
30 schools in Mexico
The Real Madrid Foundation has been working in collaboration with the Fundación Grupo Bafar since 2011. They currently run 30 social sports schools in football and basketball in the states of Chihuahua, Michoacán, Yucatán, Mexico and MeCiudad de México. El objetivo es ayudar a que crezcan de forma sana, utilizando el deporte como herramienta que fomenta su aprendizaje y su desarrollo integral. Además, con el fin de complementar su formación, los beneficiarios reciben revisiones médicas periódicas, acompañamiento escolar, clases de música, un soporte nutricional regular y un programa de concienciación de hábitos saludables con el fin de combatir la malnutrición.
