The V Carrera Solidaria Fundación Real Madrid by Unicaja Banco was a success

Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, and Real Madrid's second vice-president, Eduardo Fernández de Blas, took part in an event that brought together thousands of runners.

The Real Madrid Foundation celebrated the V Carrera Solidaria by Unicaja Banco. Around 4,000 runners lined up in Madrid to take part in the race and show their support for the Foundation's social and sporting projects. Real Madrid's second vice-president, Eduardo Fernández de Blas, marked the start of a race which was attended by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for the 5 kilometre run and Real Madrid ambassador Álvaro Arbeloa took part in the 10 kilometre run.

The first past the finishing line in the men's 10km race were Arturo Rubio 31'52''', Rodrigo Ares 32'30'' and Andrés Morales 32'45'', while in the women's category, María Lorenzo won 38'44'' followed by Sonia Losa 40'17'' and Isabel Matarranz 41'10''. The 5km race was headed by Adrián Ajenjo 17'01'', Javier Fernández 17'53'' and Ricardo José García 17'54'' in the men's category and María González 19'46'', Carolina Bello 22'02'' and María Teresa Aoun 22'11'' in the women's category.

Social sports programmes
The proceeds from the run will support the Foundation's social sports programmes for diversity. Among them are the programme for homeless people and the Emprendeporte project for unemployed people, who also took part in the race. A group from the Peña Madridista Mazacotero also ran in support of one of their members, who took part in the 10km race after an illness that had affected his mobility. The morning of festivities was rounded off with children's races.
